Job Title: Support Worker – Adults with Learning Disabilities

Job Summary:
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to assist adults with learning disabilities in living fulfilling and independent lives. This role involves providing person-centered care, promoting social inclusion, and supporting individuals in developing life skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalised support tailored to each individual’s needs and abilities.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Encourage and facilitate social engagement, leisure activities, and community participation.
- Support individuals in developing communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and support networks to implement care plans.
- Advocate for individuals’ rights and support them in accessing services.
- Promote independence while providing necessary assistance and reassurance.
- Maintain accurate records, ensuring safeguarding and confidentiality policies are upheld.
Requirements:
- Experience working with adults with learning disabilities (preferred but not essential).
- Qualifications in Health & Social Care, Learning Disability Support, or related fields.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic approach.
- Ability to work within a team and provide person-centered care.
- Understanding of safeguarding, mental health awareness, and positive behavior support techniques.
